promiscuous mode

Hoi,

Ik ben deze string tegengekomen:

"if set to yes, check if the network devices are in promiscuous mode."

met google kwam ik erachter waar dat op slaat:

Maar hoe vertaal ik dat nou in vredesnaam? Promiscue modus?
